Do you find yourself saying “my hair doesnt hold curls”? Maybe your shampoo and conditioner is sabotaging your hairstyle!

When purchasing products, please consider, Parabens, Silicones, Isopropyl Alcohol, and Sulphates. Not only do they affect your colour, but they also affect how your hair acts and handles styling products.

PARABENS

Additives that prevent growth of mould and bacteria in products. They also can disrupt hormones in your body which can harm fertility and increase the risk of cancer.

SILICONES

A rubber/plastic like substance which is used as a sealant against water and air, which prevents the hair from absorbing. This can be harmful when colouring or using hot tools on your hair. It gives the hair the illusion of shine, however it is not a healthy shine, it is a fake shine from the plastic.

ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL

Has a drying effect on your hair. It sucks out moisture, leaving it feeling dry and brittle.

SULPHATES

A foaming agent which helps your shampoo “lather”. While they strip away dirt and oils, they also strip away too much moisture, leaving the hair dry and unhealthy. Your hair will look flat, dull and your colour will not last as long. They can also make your scalp dry and prone to irritation.

Your hair’s primary function is to absorb. For a style to last, it needs to absorb moisture and great styling products. This helps the longevity of your style, plus prevents frizz and damage from hot styling tools. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If your hair is coated in nasty ingredients, it cannot absorb anything. This could be a reason why your hair doesn’t hold curls or it is really slippery to style.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
